Why l Allowed My Son, Mayorkun, To Do Music - Mum, Popular Actress, TOYIN Adewale

Until he became a big star that he is now, not many people knew that Mayorkun, the Hip hop Star is the son of ever smiling star actress Toyin Adewale who now lives in the U.S.

He is also a well brought up son, who listens to his mum a lot.

It has always been a thing of surprise to many how Toyin who is known to be a very disciplined and highly principled woman was convinced to allow her darling son pursue a career in music.

Ordinarily, she would not have allowed him to do music. But she did eventually. What made her agree? Why did she give the go ahead
Citypeople Online asked her these and many more questions a few days ago and she revealed a lot.

Actually am a mother that loves her children to follow their passion but at the same time i fear for their decisions at times.

In Mayowa's case when he decided to go into music fully i was a bit scared ,i didn't discourage him though but i wanted him to focus more on his banking career and take music as a part time thing  cos am in the entertainment industry i know what it entails.

It's more of hyping than the real thing compare to banking that surely at the end of the money your salary awaits you.

But to the glory of God he was able to come in contact with Davido and before you could say Jack Robinson everything became blown.

The only role I played and I’m still playing in his career is just giving him my blessings and supporting him in every aspect.

Though initially I tried connecting him with few people that could help push him then, but how he got to meet Davido was through his own effort and God's favour.

Her decision to allow Mayorkun pursue his musical career has paid off. He has today become a big star.

Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel (born March 23, 1994), known professionally as Mayorkun, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and pianist
He was discovered on Twitter by Davido when he posted a cover of one of Davido's "The Money" featuring Olamide. He was later signed to Davido's DMW in 2016 and released his first single called "Eleko".

Mayowa was born on March 23, 1993 in Lagos State. He hails from Osun State

He is the first child of three, born into a family of entertainers. His mother is a Nollywood actress and his father, an artist and movie producer. Mayowa was part of the choir at a very young age where he, according to him, "learnt the rudiments of music". He has a degree in accounting from the university of Lagos, and was in a banking job before he was discovered in 2016.

Mayowa decided to leave his bank job to search for another due to bad pay, when his cover video was spotted by Davido in February 2016.

Davido followed him on twitter and Instagram, after which Davido asked him if he can do more than play the keyboard. He got a call from Davido the same day he wrote his resignation letter and sent Davido some of the songs he already recorded. Davido decided to sign him to Davido Music Worldwide.
Mayowa released his first single under the label called "Eleko" in 2016.
The video of the song gathered a million views in the first 10 days.

To his name, Mayowa has several singles including Yawa, Sade, Che Che, and Mama. In October 2018, he released singles "Posh" and "Fantasy" featuring Olu Maintain in anticipation of his first studio album titled "The Mayor of Lagos"

The Mayor of Lagos was released on the 16th of November 2018.
On December 1, 2018, it appeared on the Billboard charts, peaking at number.

Mayowa embarked on a nationwide tour in 2017 that saw him perform in over 35 schools. He ended the year 2017 with his first headline concert in Lagos called "The Mayor of Lagos".

The Mayor of Lagos concert continued in 2018 with a show in the city of Ibadan and the capital, Abuja.

Also, a date for a Lagos edition was announced.

In 2018, Mayowa did a tour of the UK, where he performed in about six cities. He also performed alongside label boss Davido at the wireless festival

Right now his career is on an upswing as he is rocking the music scene.
